Mentoring Program

Mentoring Program

In late 2010, the API Queensland Division launched a Mentoring Program to assist members who are new to the property industry.  The program is designed to:

  • Aid student, Graduate, Provisional and Associate members of the API to gain exposure and insight into areas of the Property Industry through a Mentor/Mentee program;

  • Provide access to Mentors who have a variety of experience in the property industry in a range of fields from residential, commercial and plant and machinery valuers, property advisers, property analysts and fund managers, property lawyers, and property researchers and academics;

  • Assist Mentees in the planning, development and management of their careers and to help them become more resilient in times of change, more self-reliant in their careers and self-directed learners;

  • Encourage the development of competencies more easily gained through example, guided practice or experience than by education and training;

  • Bridge the gap between theory and practice. Formal education or training is complemented by the knowledge and the hands-on experience of a competent practitioner;

  • Model desired behaviours, encourage the development of competencies, motivate for service quality, and above all to cultivate progressive attitudes.

How to apply

Applications for the current Mentoring Program have closed, however, interested parties are welcome to contact the API Queensland office for more information about the Program.
