How can I get involved in the activities of the API?

The Australian Property Institute is a organisation run by Members, for Members.  In Queensland, we have a number of Boards and Committees which operate under the Queensland Divisional Council.

Divisional Council

The Queensland Divisional Council oversees the running and operations of the API's Queensland Division.

All Life Fellows, Fellows, Associates, Graduates, Provisional Members and Provisional Associates of the API are entitled to stand for a position on Divisional Council.  The terms of election to Divisional Council are detailed in the API's Governance documents.

Divisional Council nominations are called for annually (generally between November and January) with any required elections following the close of nominations.

Committees

A number of standing Committees and Boards play a vital role in the operations of the Queensland Division.  These Committees and Boards, made up of volunteer Members, assist in a range of ways including:

  • reviewing proposed legislation
  • reviewing draft API Guidance Notes and Practice Standards
  • managing content for our Continuing Professional Development (CPD) program
  • running local Discussion Groups, providing specific local CPD to members
  • liaising with key groups, such as those in banking and finance or academia, on behalf of the API and its Members

If you are a member of the API and wish to get involved in our activities, please contact our office.
